Faiveley Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley gc. 2018 0,75l

Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru Monopole comes from a single walled vineyard wholly owned by the family at the Ladoix end of the Corton hill. The bouquet combines black cherry, dark berry fruit and a hint of orange zest with spice and subtle floral notes. On the palate this Pinot Noir is dense, powerful and yet finely chiselled, showing juicy fruit and a taut, mineral backbone. Ripe, perfectly integrated tannins add depth and a silky mouthfeel. Lively acidity keeps everything fresh and extends the long, spicy, fruit-driven finish. A great, age-worthy grand cru for braised beef, game dishes or mature hard cheeses.

18 months in French oak with a high proportion of new wood give this Monopole Corton power, spicy depth and long-lasting structure.

Faiveley

In Burgundy, near Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley has carried a seven‑generation legacy since 1825. From the intricate climats of the Côte de Nuits to limestone slopes in the Côte Chalonnaise, the estate’s holdings read like a map of terroir, parcel stitched to parcel across prized villages and crus....

The grape variety: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.

It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin. Pinot Noir
