Faiveley Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley gc. 2023 0,75l
Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru Monopole comes from a single walled vineyard wholly owned by the family at the Ladoix end of the Corton hill. The bouquet combines black cherry, dark berry fruit and a hint of orange zest with spice and subtle floral notes. On the palate this Pinot Noir is dense, powerful and yet finely chiselled, showing juicy fruit and a taut, mineral backbone. Ripe, perfectly integrated tannins add depth and a silky mouthfeel. Lively acidity keeps everything fresh and extends the long, spicy, fruit-driven finish. A great, age-worthy grand cru for braised beef, game dishes or mature hard cheeses.
Ageing for 18 months in French oak with a high proportion of new oak gives this Monopole Corton power, spicy depth and a long, well-structured profile.
