Ladoix blanc Les Marnes blanches from Domaine Faiveley is a multi layered Chardonnay from vineyards below the Corton hill. Pale marls in the soil endow the wine with freshness and a distinctive mineral character. The nose offers pear, yellow apple and citrus zest alongside a hint of brioche. On the palate it is powerful, creamy and yet taut, supported by well integrated acidity. Subtle toasted notes and a touch of roasted nuts complement the juicy fruit. A fine, saline edge brings precision and length and invites another sip. This expressive white Burgundy is ideal with fish, shellfish, poultry or creamy risottos.
