Volnay Premier Cru Fremiets from Domaine Faiveley comes from stony slopes on the border with Pommard and marries Volnay’s hallmark finesse with extra depth and structure. The aromatic nose reveals red cherry, raspberry and wild plum alongside rose petals, gentle spice and a touch of forest floor. On the palate this Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, silky and precise, with juicy, pure fruit and fine-grained tannins. Lively, well-integrated acidity lends tension and keeps the long, elegant finish vibrant. A characterful premier cru that pairs beautifully with poultry, roast veal, lamb or refined mushroom dishes.
