Franz Hirtzberger Riesling Setzberg Smaragd 2025 0,75l

Franz Hirtzberger’s Riesling Setzberg Smaragd is sourced from high-lying, terraced vineyards above Spitz and is regarded as one of the estate’s most taut, mineral-driven Rieslings. The bouquet reveals delicate yellow exotic fruit, mirabelle, greengage and white peach, backed by citrus lift and a hint of smoky spice. On the palate the wine is tightly knit, crystal-clear and juicy, with a racy line of acidity and a long, lemon-salty finish. Its precise structure and cool, stony minerality lend great finesse and grip. A distinctive Wachau Riesling with excellent ageing potential, perfect alongside fish, seafood, fine veal or subtly spiced vegetable dishes.

The grape variety: Riesling

Riesling is a noble white grape famous for citrus fruit, stone fruit, floral notes and vibrant acidity. It can be dry, off-dry, sparkling or beautifully sweet.

Its freshness makes it ideal with seafood, pork, spicy Asian cuisine, cheeses and desserts. Riesling is one of the most expressive and versatile white wine grapes.
