Franz Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Rotes Tor Smaragd 2025 0,75l

Grüner Veltliner Rotes Tor Smaragd from Franz Hirtzberger is sourced from selected parcels around the historic gate of Spitz and represents the richer, more opulent face of the Wachau while remaining finely etched. The bouquet shows ripe pear and pome fruit, yellow tropical notes, hints of herbs, blossom honey and delicate tobacco. On the palate the wine is powerful, with dense yellow-fruit character, fine-grained tannins and seamlessly integrated acidity. A distinct mineral streak lends elegance and impressive length, finishing with spicy nuance. Despite its concentration, the Smaragd stays balanced and highly drinkable. A classic Wachau Veltliner to accompany roasted fish, veal, pork, hearty Austrian dishes or mature hard cheese.

Four months in stainless steel preserve clarity and give the wine a balanced, elegant structure.
