Glenfarclas Family Cask 1982 from 4th fill hogshead cask 632 is a long-aged Speyside single malt with a classic sherried style. This single cask marries ripe berry and sherry notes with nutty nuances, polished oak and a touch of pepper. On the palate it is oily and mouth-filling, showing flavours of dried fruits, raisins, spiced wood, cocoa and soft leather. Despite the extended maturation, sweetness, spice and a gently dry structure remain perfectly balanced. The finish is long, warming and complex, with lingering sherry and nut tones. A mature Glenfarclas that begs to be savoured slowly on special occasions.
