Gusbourne Sparkling Blanc de Blancs 2019 0,75l

Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs is the flagship traditional‑method sparkling wine from this Kent estate and is made entirely from Chardonnay. Vines rooted in chalk and flint‑rich soils close to the cool English coast provide purity and tension, while extended lees ageing in bottle builds complexity. The nose shows lemon, green apple, white flowers, chalk and delicate brioche notes. On the palate the wine is precise and tightly focused yet silky, with a fine, creamy mousse, salty minerality and persistent citrus. A benchmark English blanc de blancs that will delight even seasoned Champagne lovers and pairs beautifully with oysters, seafood and elegant canapés.

At least 39 months on the lees gives the Blanc de Blancs depth, brioche nuances and a mineral, fresh line.

Gusbourne

Between Romney Marsh and the Channel, Gusbourne in England has shaped a modern classic. After the first vines were planted in 2004 at Appledore, Kent, the estate chose a strict rule: every bottle comes from its own vineyards, rooted in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for traditional‑method sparkling wine....

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex. Chardonnay
