Gusbourne Pinot Noir 2022 0,75l

Gusbourne Pinot Noir is a rare still expression from a producer best known for traditional‑method sparkling wines. Pinot Noir from chalk and clay vineyards in Kent and Sussex is matured in French oak, with a judicious use of new barrels. The nose is fragrant and pure, with morello cherry, berries, gentle spice, violets and a faint smoky earthiness. On the palate it is finely structured, juicy and elegant, showing ripe red fruit, savoury minerality and silky tannins. The finish is long, subtly smoky and mouth‑watering. A characterful English Pinot Noir to enjoy with lamb, duck, game birds or dishes centred on mushrooms and root vegetables.

Ten months in French oak gives the Pinot Noir spice and structure while preserving the red fruit.

Gusbourne

Between Romney Marsh and the Channel, Gusbourne in England has shaped a modern classic. After the first vines were planted in 2004 at Appledore, Kent, the estate chose a strict rule: every bottle comes from its own vineyards, rooted in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for traditional‑method sparkling wine....

The grape variety: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.

It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin. Pinot Noir
