Gusbourne Sparkling Late Disgorged Brut Reserve 2015 0,75l

Gusbourne Brut Reserve Late Disgorged is the long‑aged counterpart to the estate’s classic Brut Reserve. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier spends many additional years on lees before being disgorged, building layers of complexity. The nose shows citrus peel, green apple and stone fruits over notes of brioche, biscuit and delicate spice. On the palate it is creamy and expansive yet lively, with flavours of lemon posset, white peach, pear and buttered toast. The mature, racy acidity and very fine bubbles lead into an extended, savoury and mineral finish. A gastronomic English sparkling wine to enjoy with oysters, scallops or aged cheeses.

Late disgorgement after long lees ageing brings mature brioche notes, depth and elegant complexity.

Gusbourne

Between Romney Marsh and the Channel, Gusbourne in England has shaped a modern classic. After the first vines were planted in 2004 at Appledore, Kent, the estate chose a strict rule: every bottle comes from its own vineyards, rooted in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for traditional‑method sparkling wine....

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex. Chardonnay
