Hugel Grossi Laüe Pinot Noir gc. Pflostig 2016 0,75l

Grossi Laue Pinot Noir from Hugel is sourced from the cool Clos Pflostig in Riquewihr, where shell limestone soils give the wine finesse and lift. Carefully sorted grapes are fermented on the skins and matured in small wooden barrels. The bouquet offers pure cherry, rosehip, subtle herbs and a delicate smoky spice. On the palate the wine is silky and tight, with juicy red fruit framed by lively acidity and fine grained tannins. A cool, stony minerality runs through the long, linear finish. This refined Pinot Noir is an excellent match for roast poultry, veal, game birds, mushroom dishes and creative vegetable plates.

After around two weeks of skin contact, the Pinot Noir matures for almost ten months in small, partly renewed barriques.

The grape variety: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.

It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin. Pinot Noir
