Hugel Riesling Schoelhammer 2014 0,375l

Riesling Schoelhammer from Famille Hugel comes from a single, meticulously farmed parcel in the heart of Schoenenbourg and ranks among the estate s rarest wines. Deep marl soils lend remarkable depth and salty minerality. The nose, especially after some air, reveals citrus, green apple, ripe stone fruit, floral notes, honey and a touch of flint. On the palate the wine is concentrated and crystal clear, bone dry with firm acidity, dense texture and chalky mineral grip. Layers of flavour unfold slowly and promise long development in bottle. The finish is very long, focused and refined. A profound Riesling to savour with noble fish, shellfish or carefully selected aged cheeses.

After gentle pressing, the Riesling ferments temperature-controlled in tank and then matures extensively in the historic cellars.

The grape variety: Riesling

Riesling is a noble white grape famous for citrus fruit, stone fruit, floral notes and vibrant acidity. It can be dry, off-dry, sparkling or beautifully sweet.

Its freshness makes it ideal with seafood, pork, spicy Asian cuisine, cheeses and desserts. Riesling is one of the most expressive and versatile white wine grapes. Riesling
