Vines more than 90 years old give this Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes its distinctive depth and presence. The Pinot Noir comes from En Champs and Les Croisettes, hillside parcels with marl and limestone soils. Hand-picked fruit is matured in oak barrels and then rested in stainless steel tanks. Ripe, dark fruit sets the tone for a generous yet composed Burgundy red. On the palate, juicy concentration meets a supple texture and plush tannins that keep its power in check. The finish adds a savoury touch of spice and remarkable persistence. With roast beef, slow-braised lamb, game or Époisses cheese, its structure finds a delicious counterpart.
