Ingrid Groiss Grüner Veltliner Ried in der Schablau Weinviertel DAC Reserve 2023 0,75l

Gruner Veltliner Ried in der Schablau from Ingrid Groiss comes from old vines rooted in poor conglomerate soils and is farmed organically. The bouquet combines lime zest, white apple, ripe yellow fruit, blossom honey and meadow herbs with a touch of pepper and gentle tobacco spice. On the palate this Veltliner is concentrated and powerful yet tightly structured, carrying juicy fruit on a backbone of salty, chalk like minerality. Vibrant acidity gives energy and length while a creamy texture adds charm. The finish is long, spicy and persistent. A characterful Weinviertel reserve Veltliner that pairs beautifully with flavourful fish, poultry, aromatic vegetable dishes and aged cheese.

Ageing in stainless steel keeps the spicy, mineral structure clear and precise.

Ingrid Groiss

In Breitenwaida, in Austria’s Weinviertel, Ingrid Groiss has been shaping her own estate identity since 2010, building on more than two centuries of family winegrowing while refusing anything that feels cosmetic. Marl and limestone around the village lend precision and drive; additional parcels near Fahndorf/Ziersdorf, with gravel, sandstone and flint, sharpen the contrast and keep the range lively....

The grape variety: Grüner Veltliner

Grüner Veltliner is Austria's signature white grape, known for citrus, pear, herbs, white pepper and lively freshness.

It is superb with asparagus, schnitzel, seafood, salads and mildly spicy dishes, making it one of the most versatile white wine grapes.
