| Gruner Veltliner Ried Loibenberg Smaragd from Weingut Knoll comes from one of the most celebrated terraced sites in the Wachau. The bouquet shows ripe stone fruit, white grapefruit, yellow apple, fine herbal spice, white pepper and a touch of smoke. On the palate the wine is powerful and dense yet tightly knit, combining creamy weight with crystalline acidity. Stony hillside minerality brings cool tension and salty depth. Notes of sesame, pepper and citrus peel carry the very long finish. A profound Smaragd suited to rich fish dishes, veal, subtly spiced Asian cuisine and mature mountain cheese. | |
