This Riesling from the single vineyard Ried Schütt in the Wachau grows on steep terraces of poor primary rock and shows the powerful Smaragd style of Knoll. The nose offers ripe apricot, yellow peach and citrus, wrapped in herbal spice and cool stony minerality. On the palate the wine is dense and concentrated, yet remains precise and taut thanks to vibrant acidity. The texture is intense but keeps an elegant, effortless flow. A long, salty finish with notes of wet stone highlights the character of its origin. This Riesling has excellent ageing potential and pairs beautifully with fine fish, seafood or aromatic Asian cuisine.
