| Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Monte Faustino is crafted from carefully dried grapes of traditional local varieties. In the glass it shows a deep garnet red colour. The nose is intense and persistent, with ripe red fruits, cherry, plum and a touch of almond, wrapped in notes of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, rich and velvety, yet surprisingly elegant. Firm but ripe tannins and balanced acidity support the generous fruit. The very long finish echoes dried fruit, spice and cocoa. A powerful Amarone to enjoy with game, roasted meats, aged cheeses or simply on its own after dinner. | |
