| Grown on the volcanic slopes around Breganze, this Merlot from the Savardo estate is matured in large oak casks. The combination of hillside terroir and traditional ageing results in a dense yet elegant profile. On the nose, aromas of dark berries, blackberry and red fruit are joined by hints of liquorice, herbs and polished oak. The palate is full-bodied and well structured, offering ripe fruit, harmonious oak spice and supple but present tannins. A subtle mineral streak adds tension and carries the flavours into a long, warming finish. This characterful Merlot pairs beautifully with braised meats, rich pasta dishes or aged hard cheeses. | |
