Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Murgers from Les Parcellaires de Saulx comes from a stony slope bordered by old murgers – traditional stone walls – and captures the powerful yet refined side of the appellation. The bouquet shows ripe cherry, raspberry and black cherry with notes of pepper, warm spice and violet. On the palate the wine is deep and concentrated, with a velvet but clearly defined tannin structure and vibrant acidity. Fresh berry fruit is joined by subtle oak, mineral nuances and gentle herbal tones. The texture is dense but supple, leading into a long, balanced finish. Les Murgers pairs beautifully with lamb, duck, roasted mushrooms or aged cheese.
Barrique ageing supports the elegant fruit and fine spice; the main ageing period is documented only as a range.
