Planteray Single Cask Trinidad Porto Cask Finish comes from a traditional Trinidad distillery and follows the house’s double ageing, maturing in bourbon and Ferrand cognac casks before a final rest in port wine wood. The nose is generous and fruity, with red berries, plum and blackcurrant backed by vanilla, caramel and orange zest. On the palate the rum is full-bodied and layered, showing red fruit, stewed plum, demerara sugar, oak and warm spice. The port cask adds extra richness, berry sweetness and gentle tannins. A very long, elegant finish with notes of jammy fruit, chocolate and roasted nuts underlines the single cask’s sipping appeal.
