Grauburgunder from Weinhof Platzer comes from vineyards on tertiary sediments and weathered volcanic soils in Styria’s Vulkanland. In the glass it shows a delicate copper hue. The nose offers ripe banana, hazelnut and stone fruit, framed by subtle toasty notes. On the palate the wine is layered and harmonious, with a creamy texture, juicy fruit and a finely structured body. Well-integrated acidity provides freshness and lift, while the long finish hints at good ageing potential. It is a versatile partner for poultry, mushroom dishes and finely sauced white meats. Stainless steel maturation with extended fine lees ageing preserves fruit and gives the Pinot Gris extra texture.
