The grape variety: Welschriesling

Welschriesling is a Central European white grape unrelated to Rhine Riesling. It gives crisp dry wines with citrus, green apple and lively acidity, as well as excellent sweet wines.

The variety is appealing because it is fresh, versatile and regionally distinctive. Pair dry styles with seafood, salads and schnitzel, and sweet styles with blue cheese or desserts.
