For connoisseurs: Rommer Blaufränkisch Barrique Ungerberg from Neusiedlersee
Rommer Blaufränkisch Barrique Ungerberg originates from vines on the Golser Ungerberg in the Neusiedlersee region. The grapes ripen on warm, sun‑drenched soils and the wine is then matured for 24 months in small oak barrels, half new and half used. The bouquet is spicy and elegant, with dark berry fruit and fine toasted notes. On the palate youthful extract and firm tannins provide plenty of structure and grip. Despite its power the texture remains supple, supported by well‑integrated acidity. A long finish marked by lingering spice and finely woven tannins underlines its class. This is a characterful red to pair with game, beef dishes and full‑flavoured cheeses.
