Saintayme

On Bordeaux’s Right Bank, in Saint-Émilion, Saintayme expresses the quiet authority of a compact Grand Cru site through the exacting vision associated with the Durantou family. Its vines grow in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, where limestone, clay and gravel give Merlot a disciplined frame and mark the warmer eastern edge of the appellation.

The estate was shaped by Denis Durantou, long admired for the work behind Château L’Église-Clinet in Pomerol. Saintayme is centred on a parcel of about nine hectares, planted largely to mature Merlot, with low yields and precise vineyard work guiding every decision before the grapes reach the cellar.

Vinification remains focused rather than showy: temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, measured extraction and restrained oak ageing keep the origin in clear relief. The result is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with genuine Right Bank identity, structural polish and discreet depth, a refined choice for Bordeaux lovers.
