Sommer Chardonnay Kalkschicht grows on shell-limestone soils at the foot of the Leithaberg, where an ancient sea once left its distinctive layer of lime. In the glass it shines a pale golden colour with subtle reflections. The bouquet combines ripe yellow apple, a hint of orange and the scent of fresh herbs with a fine stony minerality. On the palate the wine is juicy and concentrated yet wonderfully elegant, showing exotic fruit nuances supported by lively acidity. Its dense but precise texture delivers plenty of drive without ever feeling heavy. A long, mineral finish makes this Chardonnay an excellent match for fish, poultry and refined vegetable dishes.

Stainless steel tank ageing keeps the Chardonnay fruit clear and balances the medium-bodied profile.
