Domaine Tournon Shiraz,Shay's Flat Vineyard,Pyrennees 2016 0,75l

This Shiraz comes from a cooler, east-facing site in the Pyrenees of Victoria. Red soils with schist, quartz and clay lend a striking sense of tension and savory depth. The nose layers black cherry and blackberry with violet, then hints of tobacco and licorice. On the palate it’s dense yet precise, driven by ripe fruit and a flash of white pepper. Polished but present tannins create a confident, dry grip and carry the finish long and steady. Freshness keeps the power in check and makes the wine dangerously drinkable. Made for grilled meats, barbecue and slow-cooked dishes with real flavor today.

The grape variety: Syrah / Shiraz

Syrah, also called Shiraz, is a dark-skinned red grape known for blackberry, plum, pepper, smoke, spice and firm structure. It ranges from elegant Rhône styles to rich Australian Shiraz.

It pairs with lamb, beef, venison, barbecue, sausages, mushrooms, olives and hard cheese. A bold, savoury red for lovers of depth and spice. Syrah / Shiraz
