Von Hövel Riesling Oberemmeler Hütte Auslese comes from a VDP.Grosse Lage site on the Saar. The vines grow on steep slate slopes around Oberemmel and produce fruit-sweet Rieslings of great finesse. On the nose this wine offers ripe citrus, candied orange peel, peach, mirabelle, blossom honey and a hint of smoke and herbs. On the palate the Auslese is full-bodied and concentrated, driven by juicy acidity that perfectly balances the natural sweetness. Flavours of yellow stone fruit, baked apple, citrus, herbal tea and salty slate character shape the long, silky finish. A classic Saar Riesling with impressive ageing potential, ideal with foie gras, blue cheese, fruity desserts or mildly spicy Asian dishes.
