Weingut Esterházy

Between the Leithagebirge and the moderating breath of Lake Neusiedl, near Trausdorf, Weingut Esterházy draws on a lineage traced to 1652, with cellar records reaching back to 1758. The past is not a backdrop here—it’s a benchmark for what Leithaberg DAC can express in a contemporary voice.

The estate has farmed organically since 2019 and is fully certified from the 2023 vintage onward. Gentle pruning aims for vines that can live a century, compost nourishes living soils, and parcels across several communities around the Leithaberg add geological tension, from limestone to schist and varied exposures.

In the cellar, precision meets curiosity: oak from the estate’s own forests, patient élevage in wood, and “project wines” that explore alternative vessels without losing their north star—origin. The result is a clear, energetic Burgenland signature built on structure, freshness and quietly confident depth.
