Yves Cuilleron’s Cornas Les Côtes comes from steep terraced slopes on decomposed granite in the southern part of the appellation. Old Syrah vines give tiny crops that are hand harvested, carefully sorted and fermented in the traditional way with a long maceration. The wine then ages in barriques, gaining structure and discreet toast. The bouquet offers black cherry, blackberry and plum alongside violet, black pepper and a gentle smoky note. On the palate Les Côtes delivers dense yet juicy fruit, powerful but ripe tannins and cool, granite-driven minerality. It is a distinctive Northern Rhône Syrah with serious ageing potential, perfect with braised beef, grilled lamb or richly flavoured game dishes.

Barrique ageing gives the powerful Syrah extra depth and integrates dark fruit, peppery spice and smoky notes.
