This Bourgogne Rouge from Cachat-Ocquidant is a classic, finely fruited expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently fermented before the wine sees a period of maturation in oak. The nose offers red cherry, strawberry and a touch of cranberry, alongside floral notes, a hint of pepper and forest floor. On the palate it is light to medium-bodied, juicy and highly drinkable, with soft, silky tannins and moderate acidity. Red fruit stays to the fore while subtle spice and delicate toasted notes add depth. The finish is fresh, elegant and carried by bright red berries. An uncomplicated yet characterful Bourgogne Rouge that can even be served slightly chilled with poultry, charcuterie, pasta or fish.

Barrique ageing gives this Pinot Noir structure, poise and an elegant character.
