Cantine San Marzano Primitivo di Manduria dop Sessantanni 2015 0,75l

This Primitivo from Apulia comes from old vineyards around Manduria and shows a deep, almost opaque ruby colour in the glass. On the nose it opens with an opulent bouquet of prunes, cherry jam and ripe wild berries, wrapped in notes of tobacco, cinnamon and gentle spice. On the palate it is full bodied and concentrated, with a silky texture and ripe, finely polished tannins. Rich dark fruit is layered with hints of cocoa, coffee and a touch of vanilla that add complexity without overpowering the wine. A lively yet well integrated acidity keeps everything in balance and gives the wine remarkable drinkability despite its generosity. The finish is long and persistent, echoing the spicy and fruity impressions of the first sip. It is an excellent partner for braised meat, game, hearty pasta dishes or simply as a contemplative red to enjoy on its own.

Founded in 1962 by 19 winegrowers in the heartland of Primitivo di Manduria DOP, the estate still draws on old alberello bush‑vines, red iron‑rich soils and a maritime breeze that keeps ripening in check....
