| I Sodi di San Niccolò is Castellare di Castellina’s flagship wine and a benchmark Supertuscan. The blend of Sangioveto and Malvasia Nera comes from steep, stony vineyards historically difficult to farm. After fermentation the wine spends an extended period in barriques and further time in bottle. The bouquet features ripe red and dark fruits, jammy notes, spices, vanilla and liquorice. On the palate it is powerful and dense yet refined, with a firm but ripe tannic backbone and vibrant acidity. A very long, layered finish makes it an outstanding partner for fine meat dishes and special occasions. | |
