Villa di Capezzana Carmignano doc. 1978 0,75l

Villa di Capezzana Carmignano comes from the historic Tenuta di Capezzana estate in the hills near Florence. This blend, based mainly on Sangiovese with a portion of Cabernet, combines Tuscan fruit with depth and structure. The bouquet opens with cherry, dark berries and rose, joined by herbs and a hint of sandalwood. On the palate the wine is concentrated yet silky, with fine‑grained tannins, fresh acidity and flavours of forest berries, cassis, spice and a touch of tobacco. Ageing in oak brings extra polish and underlines the minerality of the clay‑ and limestone‑rich soils without masking the fruit. An elegant, age‑worthy Carmignano that pairs beautifully with braised beef, lamb, game birds or hard cheeses.

The grape variety: Sangiovese

Sangiovese is Italy's leading red grape, famous in Tuscany. It brings cherry fruit, herbs, savoury spice, lively acidity and firm structure to many classic Italian wines.

It pairs beautifully with tomato pasta, pizza, grilled meat, roast pork, mushrooms and pecorino. A versatile choice for lovers of elegant, food-friendly reds. Sangiovese
