| Castelgreve Vin Santo del Chianti from Castelli del Grevepesa is a traditional sweet wine from Tuscany, made from Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia del Chianti. After harvest the grapes are dried before gentle pressing, and the must then ferments and ages slowly in small barrels. In the glass it shows a deep golden colour; the nose evokes dried apricots, raisins, figs and honey, with nutty tones and delicate spice. On the palate the Vin Santo is full, soft and lusciously fruity, balanced by well-judged acidity and a long, warm finish. It is a classic partner for cantucci and other almond biscuits, and an exciting match for blue cheeses and desserts featuring dried fruits. | |
