Poggio Antico’s Rosso di Montalcino is the estate’s more approachable, yet far from simple, expression of sangiovese. Sourced from the same hillsides as the Brunello, the grapes are harvested slightly earlier and aged for a shorter time in oak. The bouquet combines red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry with floral tones and a touch of cocoa and dried herbs. On the palate the wine is juicy, bright and inviting, with fine‑grained tannins and lively acidity. It offers both freshness and depth, making it a versatile partner for antipasti, pasta dishes, roast chicken or grilled vegetables.
