Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino docg. 2001 0,75l

Banfi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG comes from the hills surrounding Montalcino in Tuscany and is made entirely from the Sangiovese (Brunello) grape. The vintage is regarded as very classic and now offers a beautifully matured yet vibrant profile. On the nose, complex aromas of ripe cherries, plums and forest berries mingle with notes of tobacco, leather, undergrowth and sweet spice. On the palate the wine is full‑bodied and structured, with ripe, fine‑grained tannins and lively acidity that gives freshness and length. Flavours of dark fruit, herbs, earthy tones and a touch of vanilla echo on the long finish. This Brunello is an ideal partner for braised beef, game dishes, ossobuco or mature hard cheeses. Open now to enjoy a fully developed yet still energetic expression of a great Brunello vintage.

Two years in Slavonian oak casks and French barriques gives the Brunello power, depth, and harmonious maturity.
