Concerto di Fonterutoli from Castello di Fonterutoli is a Tuscan red in the Supertuscan vein, combining Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from selected vineyards around Fonterutoli and are vinified separately before ageing in French oak barrels. The bouquet reveals ripe cherry, dark berries, spice, undergrowth and a hint of graphite. On the palate Concerto is juicy and full-bodied yet precise, with dense fruit, fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, powerful and still elegant. It is a characterful wine that pairs beautifully with braised meats, game, lamb and mature hard cheeses.
