| M. Chapoutier Banyuls Rimage Rouge comes from dramatic stone terraces above the Mediterranean in Roussillon and is a classic Vin Doux Naturel. Made mainly from grenache noir harvested very ripe, the wine retains its natural sweetness through mutage. The nose shows black fruits, red berries, cherry and plum, with cocoa, spice and a touch of dried fruit. On the palate it is rich, warm and generous, balanced by fine tannins and a silky texture. The long, sweet but never cloying finish makes it a delicious partner for chocolate desserts, fruit tarts, blue cheeses or quiet moments after dinner. Served slightly cool, it is also excellent on its own as a contemplative after‑dinner glass. | |
