M.Chapoutier Châteauneuf du Pape rouge La Grenade 2023 0,75l

La Grenade is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape of striking origin, finesse and quiet intensity. M. Chapoutier crafts it from Grenache grown on ancient alluvial soils with quartzite pebbles and red sandy clay over molasse, harvested by hand and handled with great respect. Fermentation takes place in small concrete tanks, partly with whole clusters, using native yeasts and minimal intervention, followed by extended ageing in sandstone vessels. Aromatically, it feels fresh, fruity and floral, while the palate is delicate, layered and elegant with a subtle vegetal lift. That combination of precision, texture and nobility makes it especially compelling. This is a serious Rhône red with depth, character and a truly distinctive presence.

Ageing in sandstone vats gives the Grenache a fine, transparent structure and highlights the elegant fruit.

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....

The grape variety: Grenache

Grenache, also called Garnacha or Garnatxa, produces warm, fruit-driven red wines with raspberry, strawberry, spice, soft tannins and Mediterranean character.

It pairs with lamb, grilled meats, tapas, vegetable stews, barbecue and herb-rich dishes, and is also central to many GSM blends. Grenache
