M.Chapoutier Châteauneuf du Pape rouge Croix de Bois 2021 0,75l
M. Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Croix de Bois is a single-vineyard selection of old grenache vines rooted in clay-limestone soils covered with large pebbles near Bédarrides. The parcel is farmed biodynamically and the wine is made entirely from grenache. Aromas of red and dark cherries, wild berries and flowers mingle with sweet spice and a hint of licorice. On the palate it is full and juicy yet taut, with fine, sinewy tannins and bright freshness. The long, focused and elegant finish gives Croix de Bois great finesse and ageing potential. It pairs beautifully with lamb, game birds, braised beef and mature hard cheeses.
In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....
The Great Vertical Tasting: A wine through the mirror of time.
Anyone who compares wine across several vintages discovers its development in a particularly impressive way. A vertical tasting reveals how style, maturity, structure and aromas change over time – and helps to find the right vintage for personal taste or a special occasion.
The grape variety: Grenache
Grenache, also called Garnacha or Garnatxa, produces warm, fruit-driven red wines with raspberry, strawberry, spice, soft tannins and Mediterranean character.
It pairs with lamb, grilled meats, tapas, vegetable stews, barbecue and herb-rich dishes, and is also central to many GSM blends.
