M.Chapoutier Ermitage blanc de l'Orée 2023 0,75l

M. Chapoutier Ermitage De l’Orée Blanc is sourced from old-vine marsanne in the Les Murets parcel on the Hermitage hill. Vines over sixty years old rooted in clay-rich, pebbly soils are farmed biodynamically and yield intensely flavoured fruit. The wine is partly aged on fine lees in demi-muids to build texture and complexity. Aromas of white flowers, ripe peach, quince and melon are joined by hints of walnut, honey, spice and chalky minerality. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, succulent yet taut, with a salty freshness and impressive length. A benchmark white Ermitage for veal, sauced poultry, fine fish dishes and matured soft cheeses.

Fermented mainly in demi-muids and foudres and to a small extent in stainless steel. The wine then matures on the fine lees and gains creamy depth.

M.Chapoutier

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....

The grape variety: Marsanne

Marsanne is a Rhône white grape that produces full-bodied wines with pear, almond, honeyed notes and a rounded, sometimes waxy texture.

It is especially appealing with roast poultry, seafood in creamy sauces, mushrooms and mature cheeses. Marsanne
