M.Chapoutier Gigondas Les Jocasses 2020 0,75l

M. Chapoutier Gigondas Les Jocasses comes from terraced vineyards below the Dentelles de Montmirail, where grenache, syrah and mourvèdre grow on stony, limestone-clay soils. Hand-harvesting and gentle vinification preserve both the power and finesse typical of Gigondas. The bouquet offers red and dark berries, cherry and plum alongside violets, pepper, leather and garrigue herbs. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, juicy and firmly structured, with ripe, grainy tannins and well-balanced freshness. A long, spicy finish with hints of licorice and mineral notes underlines its characterful style. It is a superb partner for braised meats, grilled dishes, oven-roasted lamb and richly flavoured Mediterranean vegetables.

Ageing for 8 months in concrete tank keeps the fruit direct while allowing the spicy Gigondas notes to come through clearly.

M.Chapoutier

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....

The grape variety: Grenache

Grenache, also called Garnacha or Garnatxa, produces warm, fruit-driven red wines with raspberry, strawberry, spice, soft tannins and Mediterranean character.

It pairs with lamb, grilled meats, tapas, vegetable stews, barbecue and herb-rich dishes, and is also central to many GSM blends. Grenache
