M.Chapoutier Saint Joseph rouge Granilites 2021 1,5l

M. Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Rouge Granilites is sourced from steep, granite-based slopes in the northern Rhône and made entirely from syrah. Biodynamically farmed vines sink their roots deep into fractured granite, giving the wine its graphite-like minerality and tension. The bouquet offers blackcurrant, blackberry and sour cherry alongside violets, black pepper and a gentle smoky touch. On the palate Granilites is juicy, focused and medium-bodied, with firm yet fine tannins and lively acidity. The long, spicy and mineral finish underlines its elegant, terroir-driven style. It pairs beautifully with grilled beef, lamb chops, game birds and flavourful vegetable dishes.

Ageing in barrels and concrete combines dark fruit with mineral tension and subtle oak influence.

M.Chapoutier

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....
