Château La Pointe is one of the larger properties in tiny Pomerol, with about 23 hectares under vine. The vineyard sits on gravel and pebble terraces of the Isle river with clay‑gravel and sandy‑clay sections and is planted mainly with Merlot plus Cabernet Franc. Grapes are picked by hand and the wine is aged in barrels, around half of them new. The bouquet offers red and black cherry, plum and berry fruit with floral tones, spice and subtle toast. On the palate Château La Pointe is juicy and medium‑bodied, with supple tannins, fresh acidity and an approachable, elegant Pomerol finish.
Twelve months in French oak give this Pomerol creamy texture, density and an elegant oak structure.
