Château La Tour Figeac Saint Emilion gcc. 2019 0,75l

Château La Tour Figeac is a biodynamically farmed Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé with around 14 to 15 hectares of vines. The vineyard lies on a mix of gravel, sandy clay and deeper clay soils on the boundary with the Pomerol plateau. Roughly two-thirds of the plantings are Merlot and one-third Cabernet Franc, with an average vine age of about thirty-five years. Grapes are picked by hand, vinified plot by plot in concrete and stainless-steel vats and aged in barrels with a moderate proportion of new oak. The bouquet reveals ripe red and black berries, cherry and plum with violet, herbs and a touch of graphite. On the palate La Tour Figeac is silky and juicy yet precise, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish that clearly reflects its limestone-influenced terroir.

Château La Tour Figeac

On the gravelly edge of Saint‑Émilion, Château La Tour Figeac has pursued a quiet, exacting identity since 1879, when it was separated from Château Figeac. Classified Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 1955, the estate stays deliberately intimate at about 14.5 hectares, anchored by Merlot with a strong thread of Cabernet Franc....
