Château Lagrange Pomerol 2023 0,75l

Château Lagrange à Pomerol is a long-established estate on the Pomerol plateau near the village church and is part of the Jean-Pierre Moueix stable. Its roughly nine hectares of vines are planted almost entirely with Merlot plus a small share of Cabernet Franc on gravel-rich soils over clay. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in temperature-controlled concrete vats and then aged for around eighteen months in small oak barrels, about one third of them new. The bouquet reveals ripe dark berry fruit, black cherry and plum with violet, gentle spice and a subtle earthy nuance. On the palate Lagrange à Pomerol is velvety and rounded, with a dense, sweetly fruited Merlot core, polished tannins and plenty of freshness. A long, harmonious finish brings together juicy richness and the truffley depth that characterises top Pomerol.
