Château L'Evangile Pomerol 2020 0,75l

Château L’Evangile lies on the heart of the Pomerol plateau, between Pétrus and Cheval Blanc, and is today run by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). Its compact vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and a small touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, with vines that are several decades old on average. They are deeply rooted in clay and gravel with sandy patches and iron-rich streaks, giving naturally concentrated fruit. After meticulous hand-picking, each plot is vinified separately and matured in French oak. The bouquet offers black cherry, plum and blackberry with violet, cocoa and subtle spice. On the palate L’Evangile is silky and dense yet very poised, with plush tannins, impressive depth and a long, warm, spicy finish.

Eighteen months of barrique ageing give this Pomerol depth, structure and a finely spicy frame.

Château L'Evangile

Where Pomerol leans toward Saint‑Émilion, Château L’Évangile has been shaping a quietly luminous reputation since the 18th century. In the 1741 land register it appeared as Fazilleau; in the early 1800s it adopted its present name. The Ducasse family steered the estate until 1990, when Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) took over, bringing measured investment and a sharper technical lens....
