Château Lynch Moussas Pauillac 5cc. 2016 0,75l

Château Lynch-Moussas is a Fifth Growth in Pauillac with about 60 hectares of vines planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vineyard lies on gravelly rises with clay-sand subsoils that favour slow, even ripening. Vines are carefully tended and grapes are harvested by hand, fermented in temperature-controlled vats and matured in French oak barrels. The bouquet reveals blackcurrant, dark cherry and plum with cedar, herbs and gentle spice. On the palate Lynch-Moussas is medium- to full-bodied, showing the firm backbone typical of Pauillac, but with ripe tannins and a core of juicy fruit. The finish is long, balanced and quietly persistent.

Eighteen months in French oak barrels bring together dark fruit, cedar spice and classic Pauillac structure.

To the west of Pauillac, on the broad gravel sheets of the Moussas plateau, Château Lynch‑Moussas works with the quiet authority of a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Classification. Once part of the vast Lynch holding, the estate was divided in the 19th century and has belonged to the Castéja family since 1919....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
