Connétable Talbot is the second wine of Château Talbot in Saint-Julien, sourced from the estate’s classic gravel soils close to the Gironde estuary. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon and merlot with small amounts of other Bordeaux grapes. After careful sorting the must ferments in steel and wooden vats before ageing in French oak barriques. The bouquet delivers blackcurrant, black cherry and plum wrapped in cedar, tobacco and a hint of graphite. On the palate Connétable Talbot is medium- to full-bodied with silky, well-defined tannins and lively acidity. A long, elegant finish with dark fruit and subtle spice makes it a textbook Saint-Julien for entrecôte, lamb chops, roasted meats and refined brasserie dishes.

The documented barrel ageing supports the elegant structure and the fresh, classic character of this second wine.
