Conterno Fantino Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped docg 2020 0,75l
Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped is sourced from a roughly one-hectare parcel in the Mosconi cru above Monforte d'Alba, where nebbiolo grows on a mix of sand, silt and clay. The grapes yield a highly concentrated must that is aged in French oak after fermentation. The bouquet combines red and dark fruit – cherry, forest berries and elderberry – with liquorice, toasty oak and a hint of dark bread. On the palate Vigna Ped is intense, juicy and multi-layered, its chalky but ripe tannins balanced by lively acidity. A long, fruit-driven finish with notes of rose petals, spice and subtle minerality marks this Barolo out as a characterful partner for braised beef, game, savoury mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. It lingers on the palate with real persistence.
Two years of ageing in French oak, in barriques and larger barrels, give Mosconi depth, power and fine tannin structure.
